little white wedding church maleny | caroline & ian

Love. Laughter. Friendships & Family. With sprinkles on top, of course.

A simple recipe.

To be swished, swirled & savoured.

That’s how Caroline & Ian made their big day…

The details from Caroline & Ian:

Make up by Kate Witherington www.katew.com.au | Hair piece/fascinator or hat: left over from dress design | Bridesmaid dresses: Ojay | Groom’s suit: Roger David | Groomsmen’s suits: BYO (yes as in literally bring your own – we leant brett one of Ians suits and who would of thought you cannot even tell the colour difference!) | Flowers: Bec Willis of Willis Designs | Stationery: Designed our own using vista print | Cake: home made by our good friend Megan Daniels | Entertainment: Richie Williams Band (live band and late night DJ) | Music: walked down the aisle to “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac, Signing of the register to “At Last” by Etta James and “you’ve Got the Love” by Florence and the machine. Exited the church to “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours” | Transport: bride arrived in style courtesy of a vintage 1930s Riley – thanks to Ken and Wendy | Honeymoon: Mexico and Cuba | How did you meet?   Sangria Bar in Adelaide, December 2008 | Hen’s night: various locations in Brisbane ! we both had a great bunch of friends organise memorable and fantastic weekends which we are still talking about ! | Buck’s night: various locations on the Gold Coast ! | Styling details from the day: I loved having colour in my shoes and earrings and also my bridesmaid was stunning in a colourful dress (I loved her dress so much I bought one for myself!). It was a big lesson to design and do my dress from scratch with no knowledge but I fell in love with the fabric and was recomended a dress maker. I even sourced 7metres of real ostrich feathers and she made a custom bolero jacket (complete with my new initials C.C) for me which was a first for her too. | Funniest Moment: impromtu dance down the aisle together | Special Memory: surprise wedding vows for each other and also waiting outside the church door for Ian & 60 percent of guests traveled by plane and was great having reception at the hall as I grew up in buderim and glad friends could see the area:)  | Special thanks: to all our friends who poured much love into the day to give us their time and talents as gifts, such as videography, celebrant, cake, flowers, decorations, transport and setting up the hall!

Advice for other brides & grooms -to-be: Do it your way as anything goes these days…
